a bitter sky of gray
A sandy beach below
two people hand in hand
walk very slow
a distant moon begins
the sun descends once more
and though we feel there their
love
we know it's not like before
Too many words that hurt the
heart
too many tears tore them apart
too many fears to overcome
before the night is done
she wonders why can't he
understand
her needs are small
he could hold them in his hand
He wonders why she doesn't know
he's just a man who loves her so
But words get in the way
of the essence of the heart
and no matter what is said it
doesn't change
the picture sky of gray
a bitter sky of gray
Faces wet with tears and ocean
spray
He holds her hands in his
He longs to say,” I love you”
She pulls away and walks ahead
so all alone, his words left
unsaid
Please don't go his heart cries
out
But in his silence, love dies
Beneath the bitter sky of gray
